Woking team trains local Scouts

Members of the Woking CFR team visited the Sheerwater Scout group in March to run First Aid training sessions, enabling the Scouts to achieve their L2 and L3 First Aid badges.

A visit to the local Ambulance Station in Ottershaw followed, where some of the Scouts received a tour of the facilities and the equipment used today in a modern ambulance. Our thanks go to Make Ready Manager Helen Wallbank for organising the visit and for leading the tour!  Scouts Training 01

Woking Bikeathon

On Sunday 12th May a team of Woking First Responders completed the Woking Bikeathon.

As one of the five main charities being supported by the Bikeathon, the team wanted to ensure they had a group of cyclists involved on the day to show support of the event.

Team Leader Simon Ramm says:

“The Rotary Club of Woking have supported our team from the very beginning and continue to be a key partner of ours into our fifth year in operation. On behalf of the whole team I’d like to say a big thank you to Terry Smith and everyone at the Club for their ongoing support”.

Nearly £500 of sponsorship money was raised to contribute to the Rotary Club’s benevolent fund.
